The Coronavirus epidemic has tested universities and other academic institutions to adapt to urgent and life-threatening situations rapidly. Even during these challenging times, Sharda University organized its 4th convocation in the presence of some eminent dignitaries. The event was inside university campus where they awarded fifty-seven PhD degrees, six chancellor medals, three vice-chancellor medals, twenty-six gold medals and five thousand and fifty-one degrees to the meritorious students from various disciplines.
Mr Sandeep Dhakal, M- Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Industrial Automation Student received the Chancellor’s Medal & Gold Medal with 9.97 CGPA. He said, “I am thrilled to be part of Sharda University, my journey was amazing, and I cannot thank enough to all my batch mates and teachers for their continuous support helping me to achieve this milestone. I will always cherish my Sharda memory lifetime.”
Similarly, Mr Ajay Bhattarai, M.Tech. – Biotechnology with specialization in Genetic Engineering Student received Vice- Chancellor’s medal with the CGPA 9.811. Likewise, Anita Khakda and Sanjeev Kumar Das, students of MBA received a gold medal with 9.6 CGPA.
International Division Director, Mr Ashok Daryani congratulated all Nepali students and said, “Students from Nepal are doing very good in academic as well as in Extra-Curricular Activities like; Sports, music and dance. They show active participation in our annual event ‘Chorus’ and have been the ambassador of our culture and education when they can go back to their home countries and serve their nation.
Students received degrees and medals from Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank who emphasized that youth plays a vital role in the development of the nation and each person’s contribution matters. Gold medalist holder Ms Anita Khakda said, “Sharda University has added uncountable feathers on my wings to reach the pinnacle of my career. With the guidance of such excellent faculties and a dynamic campus environment, I have learnt and achieved a lot during my time in Sharda. With so much of hard work and dictation and continues support from my teachers, I was able to achieve Gold medal that will be a symbol of my first life achievement.
Mr Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University mentioned that the university highly focuses on girl education because if women are educated, then they make the society educated.
Challenges can be turned into opportunities, and Nepalese students are proving their ability worldwide by being the part of premium institutions like Sharda University which is ranked as the number one private university of India.
